A relative newcomer to Virginia wine, but not to Virginia, Reynard Florence is a one of a kind family farm vineyard, prioritizing quality and a personal touch. Winemaker/consultant is renowned Virginia wine pioneer Michael Shaps.
Horton Cellars Winery
Taste naturally acclaimed wines in our old-world Tudor winery. Over 30 wines include Marsanne, Viognier, Petite Manseng, Chardonnay, Mourvedre, Cabernet Franc, Tannat, Malbec, Syrah, Nebbiolo, Pear, Peach, Strawberry, Raspberry, Blueberry, and Blackberry.
Nestled at the eastern edge of the Shenandoah National Park in the shadow of Old Rag Mountain and White Oak Canyon, Ducard Vineyards is best described as a “hobby gone wild.” Open to the public, with a gorgeous new tasting room at the vineyard site. This winery is pet-friendly.

Prince Michel & Rapidan River Vineyards
Prince Michel is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and offers tours of the facility, samples of their award-winning wines in the extensive wine and gift shop, and a restaurant featuring Wine Country cuisine.
Cedar Mountain Battlefield – 6 miles north of the Inn on James Madison Hwy. (US 15); site of Aug. 9, 1962 defeat of Gen. Pope by Stonewall Jackson; fighting actually started at what is now the entrance of the Inn at Meander Plantation.
Brandy Station Battlefield and Graffiti House – North-east of Culpeper. Site of the largest cavalry battle of the Civil War; encompasses over 15 miles of terrain.
Exchange Hotel and Civil War Museum – Gordonsville. Civil War medical museum and history of Gordonsville as a railroad town.
Wilderness Civil War Battlefield – Orange County. Site of first Lee vs. Grant encounter; bloodiest and most decisive campaign of the Civil War.

Old Rag Mountain – Madison County (Shenandoah National Park). Popular hiking destination; exposed rock summit elevation of 3,291 feet.

Historic Landscape Tour at Montpelier
Peel back 250 years of landscaping, one layer at a time, to learn how the grounds of Montpelier became a trove of champion trees and unique plantings, cultivated with great care and attention over generations of care and preservation.
